The Swedish Church to Collect '39' Million to Build a Mosque

For years the Swedish church parish in Nacka has with an ongoing project planned to build a mosque adjacent to the existing church in Fisksätra in Stockholm.

The project to build the joint building, called "House of God" is estimated to cost SEK 39 million ($4,548,630), an amount the church tries to collect through a foundation.

Critics have naturally questioned whether the church really should be building mosques, or instead focus on the Christian faith.

Plans to build the "House of God" in Fisksätra, Nacka municipality in southern Stockholm, began already in 2009. Fisksätra is an ethnic community with a large Muslim populations. The following year, priest and former bishop of Karlstad, Bengt Wadensjö, presented the project in an article in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. He referred to the Sweden Democrats:

Swedish church to collect 39 million to add a mosque- When fear of the unknown in the form of Islam now gives Sweden a profile in the news by SD taking place in parliament, I want to highlight a different picture of Sweden. Jimmie Åkesson (head of SD) wrote in Aftonbladet, October 20, 2009, that "Muslims are our biggest foreign threat". In Nacka we do not believe that immigrants or Muslims would be a threat. They are an asset."

Bengt Wadensjö said that Muslims and Christians should unite in the idea that God is one, and added that "Muslims are generally peaceful and honest", and that the project would lead to that "world peace begins in Fisksätra".

Concretely, the idea is that the mosque will be built next to the church and the two united by a glazed foyer. The Muslim community have been allowed to buy the land needed for SEK 300,000, an amount that will not be paid until the project is complete.

In November 2014, Nacka Parish decided to transfer bequeathed funds to the collection fund to build the mosque, ie money from deceased who wanted to support the Swedish Church by donating money. Although this decision was appealed, the protest was rejected.

POPE FRANCIS SAYS ALL MAJOR RELIGIONS ARE PATHS TO SAME GOD

A new video has just been released in which Pope Francis very clearly expresses his belief that all of the major religions are different paths to the same God. He says that while people from various global faiths may be “seeking God or meeting God in different ways” that it is important to keep in mind that “we are all children of God”.
This is the most recent example that shows that the Pope has completely abandoned any notion that a relationship with God is available only through Jesus Christ. As he has done throughout his papacy, he continues to lay the groundwork for the coming one world religion, and yet hardly anyone seems upset by this. When I first heard of this new video, I was so stunned that I thought that it might be a joke. But the truth is that this video is very real. The following comes from an article that was put out by Catholic News Agency… The Pope s first-ever video message on his monthly prayer intentions was released Tuesday, highlighting the importance of interreligious dialogue and the beliefs different faith traditions hold in common, such as the figure of God and love. FULL REPORT

What Does It Take to Please God?

What Does It Take to Please God? I tried my hardest to live out what I believed. I had a quiet time every morning. I prayed often. I memorized Scripture. I led a small Bible study group. And I never missed Sunday school or church. But it never seemed like I was doing enough, and I kicked myself for it.
What would it take to please God? What else did I need to do?
One day I asked my pastor these questions, and he had some encouraging words:
"If you're a Christian, God is pleased with you," he said. "It sounds like you're looking at your relationship with God as a to-do list. That's what's stealing your joy."
He pulled out his Bible and turned to Galatians. He told me how the people in the Galatian church felt a lot like me.
"Some people convinced the Galatians they had to keep a list of rules, too. So Paul wrote them a letter to remind them that God accepted them by grace, not because of anything they did.
"Now, don't quit having your quiet time or leading your Bible study. Those things are evidence of a changed heart. But you mustn't think that God's approval rests on how well and how often you do them."
